Here are three circuits which are identical except for the frequency of the source. Inductors are able to "pass" lower frequencies more easily than higher ones, because they oppose changes in current, and low frequency AC has more gradual changes, giving the inductor a chance to adjust. The higher frequency of the bottom circuit results in a lower current.
